Collider Bangle

Second place, Saul Bell Design Awards, 2011.

Argentium Silver, Synthetic Ruby Balls.

This bangle design was inspired by the Large Hadron Collider and the race to find the 'God Particle' or Higgs Boson.

The bangle appears as two intertwined forms but it is actually one continuous channel with a single edge. Inside, synthetic ruby balls race around the channel and collide with each other.

Since it was first held in 2001, recognition in the Saul Bell Design Award competition has become one of the most sought-after honours for jewellers and metalsmiths worldwide.

Eva Martin has won three Saul Bell Design Awards and been a finalist twice.
